Celeb Twitter Round-Up: K.O Accused of Stealing Music, Hiring Ghostwriters
When it comes to music, rapper K.O is proud of himself for writing his own lyrics and co-producing most of his beats. So, you’d think that his fans – well, the REAL ones – would know better than to accuse him of stealing other artists’ music and hiring ghostwriters.
Weeeell … one “fan” clearly didn’t.
Let’s backtrack a little: in an episode of “The Sobering Podcast” (which premiered on Wednesday, 26 July), the “SETE” hitmaker told hosts Lil FRAT, Kitso Moremi and Mokgethwa about how to make it as a successful music artist:
“The thing about music and being an artist,” he explained, “I would say you need 30% talent, you will need another 20% hard work. Another 5% is timing, and then the remaining 45% is pure luck.”
Over on Twitter, user @Therealtylaally disagreed with K.O’s views before accusing him – and other musicians – of pretending to mentor aspiring artists just to steal their music from under their noses:
As you can tell, K.O was NOT impressed with this statement:
@Therealtylaally then retorted:
A highly-confused K.O clapped back:
@Therealtylaally didn’t have a rebuttal, so it’s safe to say that K.O shut them up properly (or maybe they thought they had dropped the mic for good with that last tweet and wasn’t bothered to pick it up again).
Even if this rogue tweep resumed the argument, K.O’s fans told him it’s not worth entertaining such rubbish:
Well, folks, consider yourself warned: don’t try to come for K.O and his music EVER, otherwise he and his stans – er, fans are gonna come get you, too!
